 |
|
Hi all!
I currently own a Yamaha PSR-413.
I am planning to buy a new better keyboard.
I am fairly new to professional keyboard playing. In the learning stage. The Yamaha is my 1st good keyboard, used to play small Casio before this
Our band will be recording a few songs in studio & I wanted a suggestion on which keyboard to buy.
(Also i will be keeping the PSR-413 as a supplementary keyboard during live shows. )
The main requirement is excellent Grand piano sound coz that is what we mainly have in all our songs. (our band is into Hindi/sufi rock btw).
All gear gurus, kindly help me out!
Wating for a reply.... |

Hi Jay,
Yeah, it's a nice keyboard! I like it very much. But I was thinking of buying one more. My budget is around 35-40k(INR).
But it's not on urgent basis. I am still to do research of which features I would really need & which keyboards offer them. I posted here coz I know people here have experience with bands & would know which keyboard is generally better for rock bands & Would make my life easier!
Our band plays Hindi/urdu rock. In most of our originals, I use the grand piano & the strings. But in some songs, I also need to use Indian sounds like Santoor & sitar (which are not that good on the 413). So i would like a keyboard which has capabilities to create new sounds.
PS: have learnt a lot from you Jay, long back, on Indian guitar tabs
Was learning guitar then & used to read the chords & suggestions posted by you. Now I am into keys & it's great to find you helping me again! Thanks. |

try to shop was used keyboards. try to get an older workstation for this price. but dont go older than a korg triton classic or yamaha motif. absolutely stay away from roland D and XP series, they seem to be doing the rounds in indian used markets. New keyboards I would recomment Korg Tr61 or if u want cheaper the m50. _________________ You become what you eat - Old Native American saying and new scientific finding. |

| Roland Juno G is pretty good for the sounds you want (piano and strings). Yamaha Motif is pretty good if you can afford it, or go for cheaper MO or MM. |
